Project Overview
AJ Design Group provided comprehensive BIM coordination and engineering services for Fisher & Paykel Appliances' innovative new global headquarters in Auckland.
The $220 million development represents a significant relocation from the company's East Tāmaki base to Penrose, where approximately 1,000 employees will work across three purpose-designed buildings.
Our team delivered detailed technical coordination for this landmark project, which features New Zealand's largest mass timber building with an innovative engineered timber diagrid frame.
Our Role
BIM Coordination
Developed comprehensive Revit models to coordinate all building services across the three-building campus. Our BIM coordination ensured seamless integration between the architectural vision and complex MEP systems, facilitating efficient collaboration among all project stakeholders.
Engineering Design
Provided detailed engineering design services for hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with New Zealand Building Code requirements while supporting the project's sustainability goals and the innovative mass timber construction methodology.
Technical Documentation
Produced detailed shop drawings and as-built documentation, including slab penetration plans, reticulation layouts, and 3D section details critical for coordinating services within the timber diagrid structure.
